Learner Drive Resources : Show Me, Tell Me Questions

During your DVSA practical driving test, the examiner will ask you two vehicle safety questions. One Tell Me question is asked before you begin driving, and one Show Me question is asked while you are driving when it is safe to do so.

A Tell Me question requires you to explain how you would carry out a vehicle safety check. A Show Me question requires you to demonstrate how to operate a vehicle control safely while driving.

For example:

“When it is safe to do so, show me how you would check that the horn is working properly.”

Knowing the correct answers to these questions is an important part of passing your practical driving test.
